She was thrilled when TrueCare looked past her lack of experience to see her potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Basically, TrueCare&#8217;s QuickCare department is my first job. I am a recent grad, so I thought it was pretty cool that they accepted me here because a lot of places don&#8217;t really have trust in recent graduates. They see it as taking a chance on somebody. I graduated in May 2024 and started working in September or August of 2024, so I\u2019ve been here for about a year so far, and it\u2019s been a pretty awesome experience. I\u2019m really happy,\u201d smiled Breana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breana also had some great insights to share about the interview process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe interview was in person. I was happy about that because I thought it was going to be through Zoom. They were very nice, sweet, understanding, and honest with me, and it made me want to be honest with them. It\u2019s not something you should be intimidated by \u2013 it\u2019s something you should be excited about,\u201d smiled Breana.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for expectations, she said that TrueCare was very upfront about the role, which was a refreshing change of pace in her job search.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was really clear what the position was going to be like and what a culture fit would look like. They told me that there was going to be a lot of change in this department, and they were right. It\u2019s never the same, and there\u2019s something different every day,\u201d said Breana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the start was a &#8220;bumpy road,&#8221; Breana found that the combination of patience and a supportive team allowed her to quickly master the role \u2013 especially as a recent graduate. Now, she encourages all new graduates to keep going, sharing her own experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe biggest tip I could give for someone who just graduated and wants to enter the health care field is to not give up. I know it\u2019s hard for us new grads to get a job, but that\u2019s how I was. It took me like seven or eight interviews to find this job. So don\u2019t give up, always stay positive, and keep going. Don\u2019t be negative about things. I know it\u2019s hard, and it\u2019s going to always be hard in the beginning. The start of a journey is usually paved with a bumpy road. I come from a low-income household, so that\u2019s something that means a lot to me. I like helping people who can\u2019t really afford health care. I just really love helping people, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m in health care. Breana describes the pace as challenging but rewarding, especially when she sees the tangible results of her team&#8217;s efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, she said, even if working in a fast-paced environment is new, you can rest assured that you will have a team behind you getting you up to speed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;When I started working here, I was pretty slow-paced, so I feel like my team really helped me get faster, and they\u2019re just very understanding and appreciative of everything. I feel like I have the hang of it now. I even told the person who interviewed me that I\u2019m pretty slow-paced, but I told them I\u2019d get the hang of it, and they believed in me. Now, I\u2019m in and out with my patient \u2013 like, it might take 5 minutes to room a patient, whereas before it might take up to 10 minutes. I\u2019m really proud of that progress. We\u2019re always giving each other shout-outs, so that motivates us a lot, too,\u201d said Breana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breana said that her department, in particular, is more fast-paced than others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s very fast-paced here compared to other departments because we float around sometimes when they need us to. I like offering help, especially with adults, and over there, it\u2019s very slow. They have, like, 30-minute appointments, whereas here, we have 15-minute appointments. She credits her team with helping her grow into a confident, fast-paced MA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;My team here, I really love working with them. We\u2019re really like a big family \u2013 we support each other when we need help and celebrate each other when we are doing well. They&#8217;re really understanding and fast-paced, but even when everyone is moving so fast, it\u2019s incredible that no one really gets left behind here,&#8221; said Breana<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This culture extends beyond daily work and feels more like a genuine connection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe\u2019re always checking in on each other, and we ask about our families and plans for the weekend. It helps us get through hard days. I\u2019m also part of the Patient Growth &amp; Retention (PGR) committee, so it\u2019s my job to make plans and organize potlucks and that kind of thing. The committee is kind of responsible for boosting everyone\u2019s energy in a way. It\u2019s hard to take initiative sometimes, like if it\u2019s not your patient and you feel like it\u2019s not your job to do something, or you can\u2019t do something, but it\u2019s important that you take the initiative anyway. That\u2019s what I do \u2013 that\u2019s what we all do. I\u2019ll tell my manager that I can help a patient for someone, for example, if they can\u2019t, or if they\u2019re having trouble, or if they\u2019re backed up with patients. Just stepping in and being like, \u2018Hey, do you need help?\u2019 makes a huge difference. I\u2019m not going to make a big deal about it, and it\u2019s not a problem for me. We\u2019re here to work and help each other out, you know? That\u2019s an important attitude to have here,&#8221; reflected Breana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> What Are the Career Growth Opportunities at TrueCare Like?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breana has clear goals: she wants to become a nurse one day, and TrueCare is actively helping her build the foundation for that future. Her current role as a Medical Assistant has served as a vital learning environment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ve learned so much so far as a medical assistant, especially since it\u2019s my first job, and I can just tell that it\u2019s going to help me in the future once I pursue my nursing career. I do work with a nurse here as well, so I get a lot of compliments from her telling me, like, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re going to be great,\u2019 and that helps a lot, too,\u201d said Breana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breana said that she has learned not to be too hard on herself, and her managers have created a positive feedback loop, which has helped her gain a lot of confidence in her career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf I could give myself advice a year and a half ago, I\u2019d tell myself, \u2018Don\u2019t be too hard on yourself.\u2019 It was really hard in the beginning. I had a lot of anxiety. Of course, I still do get a little anxious here and there, but not nearly as much as when I started. I really thought I wasn\u2019t fit for the position. But I realized I am. You just have to be patient with yourself and understand that you\u2019re here for a reason. If you need to take a break, take a break. It\u2019s OK. You\u2019ll learn a lot, and you never stop growing. My teammates and managers also make comments about how much I\u2019m growing and improving, and that feels good. I thought I was the only one who was seeing that. It motivates me to continue improving,\u201d said Breana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breana is excited about her path forward within the organization and sees plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I\u2019m excited to grow my career with TrueCare. I think I will stay here for a while. I can\u2019t really see myself leaving. I really like working at TrueCare, and when I started working here,\u00a0 I didn\u2019t think I was going to stay.
